Advanced Oncology
Why Filipino Patients Choose China
China has invested heavily in cancer research and treatment over the past two decades. Its major cancer centres treat hundreds of thousands of patients each year, and many are globally recognised for their expertise — particularly in liver cancer, lung cancer, and minimally invasive oncology.
China approves many targeted therapy and immunotherapy drugs earlier than ASEAN countries. Clinical trials are also widely accessible.
Treatment costs in China are generally a fraction of those in the USA, UK, or Singapore — without compromising on technology or expertise.
China's top oncology hospitals see more cancer cases per year than most hospitals worldwide, giving doctors unmatched clinical experience.
Most major Chinese cities (Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou) are 2–4 hours by direct flight from Manila — far shorter than travelling to Europe or the USA.

The Journey
Step-by-Step: From Inquiry to Treatment
We guide you through every stage — so you never have to figure it out alone.
Fill out the free registration form with your diagnosis details. A coordinator contacts you within 24–48 hours.
We share your medical records (with your consent) with the appropriate specialist for an initial case review.
Meet the doctor in person during a Philippines visit, or via video call. Discuss your options, ask questions, and decide on next steps.
If you decide to proceed, we help prepare hospital admission documents, assist with your medical visa application, and coordinate travel logistics.
Upon arrival, our local partner assists with hospital check-in, interpretation, accommodation, and day-to-day support throughout your stay.
We facilitate continued communication with your Chinese oncologist and help coordinate follow-up care with Philippine-based doctors.
Planning Your Trip
Costs and Logistics Guide
A rough overview to help you prepare. Actual costs vary widely by treatment type and hospital. Our coordinators can provide a detailed estimate for your specific case.
Travel
Manila to Beijing, Shanghai, or Guangzhou: approximately 2–4 hours direct flight. Return flights from major Philippine carriers and Chinese airlines are available. [Update with current estimates]
Accommodation
Most partner hospitals offer on-campus or nearby family accommodation. Options range from budget to comfort levels, typically at lower costs than comparable Western cities.
Medical Costs
Treatment costs vary significantly by cancer type, stage, and treatment duration. Surgery, chemotherapy, and targeted therapy costs are often 40–60% lower than Western rates. Our team will provide an estimated cost breakdown before you commit to anything.
Medical Visa
Filipino patients travelling for medical treatment typically apply for a medical (M) visa. Our coordinators will guide you through the required documents, including hospital invitation letters.
Language Support
Our local partners in China provide medical interpretation services to assist Filipino patients throughout their stay. Medical documents are translated as needed.
Bringing a Companion
We strongly encourage patients to bring a family member or trusted companion. We can assist with companion visas and accommodation arrangements for one accompanying person.
⚠️ Important: All cost figures are approximate and may change. Cancer and Hope does not charge patients for coordination services — any fees are transparently communicated and relate only to third-party services (e.g., translation, visa assistance). We will never ask you to pay without a full written explanation of what the fee covers.
